Signing up for ObamaCare may have unwanted consequences. From more than half of those who signed up for ObamaCare in 2014 underestimated their income and have to pay back an average of $500 in subsidies when filing taxes. By costing tax payers a large percentage of their refund, many have trouble paying their regular household expenses. Health-care subsidies are based on a sliding scale for varying incomes. As incomes change, so does the amount that goes to cover medical insurance. The penalty for not having coverage was also set at 95 dollars or one percent of an individuals income for 2014. Information supplied by H&R Block say that the uninsured are paying an average of 172 dollars.
